About the Process


When Huntsville Public Library does not carry the title you are looking for, an interlibrary loan (ILL) can be arranged for you. We borrow the item from a library that does own the material, loan it to you and then return it to the lending library. This service is free to patrons in good standing who have been with our Library for more than 30 days. An Interlibrary Loan form is required for each item requested, and some restrictions do apply. 


How it works

  1. To browse and find the title you are looking for, go to SHAREit ILL System
  2. Welcome to the Texas Armadillo Network for Interlibrary Loan
  3. Click ‘Please Login’ at the top right, select the Huntsville Public Library in the dropdown menu, login with your library card number and pin number
  4. Your successful login will show by saying ‘Hello’ in the top right
  5. Search for your items using the search bar in the center or go to Advanced to the right of the search bar
  6. Online request access for cardholders is unavailable at this time  
  7. Contact the library with information about your ILL request

Material Not Eligible


  • Items less than 6 months old or on a “Current Best Sellers” list
  • Entertainment DVDs
  • Music CDs
  • Materials already owned by the library, unless they are lost or missing.
  • Rare or expensive items

Users Not Eligible


  • Patrons who have had a card less than 30 days
  • Patrons with unpaid fines on their card, or on a card in their household
  • Patrons who have lost or damaged items on multiple occasions
  • Patrons with 5 currently active ILL requests
