Bubbles, rhymes, and books--oh my! You won’t want to miss Book Babies Story Time at Huntsville Public Library. This program is a story time designed for children ages two years and under. Enjoy this early literacy initiative at 10:45 a.m. on Mondays in the Rex Children’s Room. Sign-up is not required.

Calling all Master Builders! Join us to challenge your building skills and explore your creativity! Our Builders Club will meet on Tuesdays, February10 and 24, from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. This program is for children in grades K and up, including preteens and teens! Due to small parts adult supervision for children under 5 is required. Provided building materials include Legos, Magnetic Tiles and more.

The Huntsville Public Library is excited to announce a new 8-week English as a Second Language (ESL) course, designed to help adult learners build confidence in everyday communication. This free program focuses on practical conversational techniques, helping participants strengthen speaking, listening, and real-world language skills in a welcoming and supportive environment. Classes will include guided discussions, interactive activities, and opportunities to practice with peers. All levels of English learners are welcome, and all materials are provided. Join us at the Library every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30 pm in the Genealogy Room and take the next step in your language-learning journey. Space is limited, and registration is encouraged, call or register online. This session runs from January 6 - February 26.

Join us for a thought-provoking adult program that explores Texas history from a global perspective. Each week, we’ll dive into how world events, diverse cultures, and various religions have shaped the people, stories, and identity of Texas. Topics will vary from session to session—ranging from international influences on early settlement to the cultural exchanges that continue to impact modern Texas—but every discussion connects back to the rich, complex history of our state. Come discover Texas through a wider lens. All are welcome to join the conversation! This lecture series is presented by HPL and Dr. Caroline Crimm of Historic Tours of Texas. This ‘Texas History- Through the Looking Glass’ program will be held every Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm in the Nash Board Room.

Join the fiber arts group to share your knitting and crocheting projects. All are welcome – beginners and the more experienced! Sessions are held every Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Supplies not provided.

Workforce Solutions will be in the computer lab at the Library on Wednesday, February 25th, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, to work with you 1 on 1 to create a professional resume. Looking to play cards and make new friends? Come to the Huntsville Public Library's Adult Bridge Club! Join us every Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the Staggs Community Room. Seasoned pros and beginners alike are invited to play this classic card game.

Join all ages & levels of experience for a game of strategy and problem solving. The Chess Club meets every Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the Staggs Community Room. Please note the new time for the summer months! You're invited to learn and master the art of chess. Chess sets are provided, but feel free to bring your own! No registration necessary.

Are you interested in learning how to confidently use the computer? If your answer is yes, then come register for our free Computer Basics Classes! Classes will be from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Thursdays, February 5, 12, 19, and 26, in the Adult Computer Lab. These classes will feature introductions of how to use the equipment, typing, emailing, and internet browsing. This program is for adults 18+. Registration and a library card are required to attend the class.

The Huntsville Public Library is proud to host our third “Local Literary Talent: Author Talk”, to highlight local authors and celebrate literacy. This event will be held on Friday, February 27, from 1:00-4:30 pm, in the Staggs Community Room.

Join us for an hour of creativity each Friday from 1:30 - 2:30 pm! These art classes are for ages 6 to 12. No registration is needed, and all supplies are provided.

Join us after hours as the Library stays open late for a special Friday night film series! This recurring program, on the 4th Friday of every month, is for ages 16+ and features movies adapted from books—ranging from timeless classics to modern favorites. Enjoy a relaxed, book-loving atmosphere, discover new stories, and experience how beloved reads come to life on screen. No registration required; popcorn and drinks provided! February’s viewing will be on Friday the 27th at 5:30pm, showing “Pride & Prejudice” (2005), a period romance film based on the novel written by Jane Austen, staring Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen.

Introducing our Saturday Family Read-Along! Join us on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month at 10:45 a.m. We will be reading together from chapter books, interactive stories, and share some craft activities. This monthly event is open to school-age children who want to discover great books, read together, share resources for home use, and socialize with other local families. Registration is not required.

S.T.E.M.  (Science Technology Engineering and Math) classes at the Huntsville Public Library are here and we are ready to learn! We are offering this program at two different times:  Tuesdays, February 3 and 17, at 3:30 pm  Saturdays, February 14 and 28, at 12:30 pm Our sessions will include reading, brainstorming, planning, and designing S.T.E.M. projects to enhance students’ engagement in these subjects. Students will work in small groups to apply their knowledge to a 30-minute project, all supplies provided. Recommended ages 8 to 12 years old. This event does not require registration.
