    Huntsville Public Library will host its 32nd Lineage Society workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.  Anyone interested in joining a lineage society is invited to attend. The workshop, sponsored by the Walker County Genealogical Society, will be held in the Staggs Community Room and representatives from several lineage societies will explain their mission, activities, requirements, meetings, and costs. D&D is a table-top role-playing game that allows players to create their own characters and embark on an adventure they write together. But one thing’s for sure–there will be magic, dragons, monsters, and more fun than you can imagine at Huntsville Public Library! D and D also builds creativity, writing skills, and teamwork. This group will meet at 4 p.m. on Fridays. June dates are June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Teens 12-18 are welcome! No prior experience is necessary!   16. Picture Book Creation Competition Begins

    An event for all ages. The Huntsville Public Library is sponsoring a Children’s Picture Book Creation Competition. This event will be divided into four specific age groups with a winner being selected from each group. Group 1 is ages 5-8; Group 2 is ages 9-12; group 3 is ages 13- 17; and group 4 is age 18+. Blank books will be available at the library beginning on June 15. Completed picture books will be due on June 29 by 6 p.m. Winners will be selected on July 13th.
