    Once upon a time, there was a band of loyal misfits who came together despite their differences to achieve an important goal. What was that goal? Who were those misfits? That’s up to you! D and D is a game that allows players to create their own characters and embark on an adventure they write together. But one thing’s for sure–there will be magic, dragons, monsters, and more fun than you can imagine at Huntsville Public Library! D and D also builds creativity, writing skills, and teamwork. This group will meet at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and will continue to meet at the same time the first and third Wednesday of most months. Teens 14-18 are welcome! No prior experience is necessary!

Sittercise is designed to help those who are aging and/or dealing with chronic illnesses. Sittercise focuses on strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, and overall improved function. Please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Liability waivers are required to participate and are available from the instructor. The class is free and open to adults ages 18 and older. Class is limited to 25 so social distancing can be maintained.

    What do maple syrup and butter have in common? PANCAKES!! The annual Kiwanis Pancake Supper Fundraiser is returning to the Huntsville Public Library! Join us from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 17 in the Staggs Community Room for the timeless favorite of all-you-can-eat Pancakes. Tickets are $5 per person, and include pancakes, sausages, and choice of beverage. Proceeds from this event will benefit literacy efforts at the Huntsville Public Library. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Huntsville Kiwanis Club members or at the event.

    The Huntsville Public Library & Walker County Genealogical Society will host its annual Genealogy Winter Lock-In from 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 at the Huntsville Public Library. Beginners and longtime researchers are all invited. Society Members will be available to assist in all areas of research. Bring all your paperwork! A light lunch will be provided by the Society. A silent auction of books and genealogical materials will be held beginning at noon on Tuesday, February 14, continuing during the week, and ending at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19. If bidding on books on February 19, you must register and attend the program.
