The Huntsville Fire Department is proud to have several highly trained and specialized Technical Rescue Teams. These teams are equipped to handle a variety of emergency situations requiring advanced skills and equipment. Our Technical Rescue Teams include:
Our Dive Team is trained for underwater search and rescue operations. This team responds to incidents involving submerged vehicles, water recoveries, and other aquatic emergencies. They are equipped with advanced diving gear and have extensive training in underwater rescue techniques.
The HAZMAT team is specialized in responding to hazardous materials incidents. This includes chemical spills, gas leaks, and other situations involving dangerous substances. The team is trained to contain and mitigate hazards to ensure public safety.
The Swift Water Rescue team is equipped to handle emergencies in fast-moving water conditions. This includes river rescues, flood response, and other water-related emergencies. The team has specialized training in swift water navigation, rescue techniques, and the use of boats and ropes.
Our Vehicle Extrication team is trained to safely remove individuals trapped in vehicles following accidents. They use specialized tools and techniques to extricate victims quickly and safely, minimizing further injury.
