Ready, Set, Go

Assistant Chief Trey Lamb heads up the "Ready, Set, Go" program for the City of Huntsville. The Ready, Set, Go program is a national program, managed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), that seeks to develop and improve the dialogue between fire departments and the residents they serve. This program helps fire departments teach individuals who live in high risk wildfire areas – and the wildland-urban interface (WUI) – how to best prepare themselves and their properties against fire threats. Within the Ready, Set, Go program, communities can become Firewise compliant, setting them apart from other wildland-urban interface communities. The Elkins Lake community in south Huntsville is the first of its kind in Walker County. For more information email: wlamb@huntsvilletx.gov.
