Fire Inspections

The Fire Inspection Division conducts fire and life safety inspections on all mercantile, manufacturing, and public buildings. The inspection division enforces the 2021 International Fire Code as adopted by Council. 
The Inspections Division also inspects facilities that are licensed by the State of Texas. These facilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Foster Homes
  • Nursing Homes
  • Hospitals
  • Long-term Care Facilities
  • MHMR Facilities
  • Huntsville Public and Private Schools

The objective of the Inspections Division is to enforce fire and life safety regulations through routine inspections, that pose a threat to life and property, in order to provide safe public places for our citizens and to reduce the loss of life and property.
