Residential Collection

Residential Collection for the City of Huntsville includes several different types of services, not just garbage pick up.  It also includes Curbside Recycling Pick Up, Yard Waste Pick Up, Heavy Trash Pick Up, and Roll Out Assistance.

​Curbside Residential Garbage Collection

Residential Garbage Collection is provided either on a Monday or Tuesday.  The City of Huntsville will provide each active utility account with a GREEN garbage cart. These carts are available in two sizes, a 48-gallon cart and a 96-gallon cart.  Customers inquiring about collection days at a particular address may contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Services Division at 936-294-5712.  Please see our Curb Side Residential Garbage Collection page for more information.

​Curbside Residential Recycling Collection

Residential Recycling Collection is provided either on Thursday or Friday.  Upon request The City of Huntsville will provide each active utility account with a BLUE recycling cart. The request for a BLUE Recycling cart can be made by calling Customer service at 936-294-5712. These carts are available in two sizes, a 48-gallon cart and a 96-gallon cart.  Customers inquiring about collection days at a particular address may contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Services Division at 936-294-5712.  Please see our Curb Side Residential Recycling Collection page for more information.

​Curbside Residential Yard Waste Collection

Residential Yard Waste Collection is a service provided for free to our residents with an active utility account.  This service is provided on the first, third, and fifth Wednesday of each month.  Please see our Residential Yard Waste Collection page for more information.

Curbside Residential Heavy Trash Collection

Residential Heavy Trash Collection is a service provided to our residents with an active utility account.  This service is provided on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.  Please see our Residential Heavy Trash Collection page for more information.

​Residential Roll Out Assistance Program

Residential Roll Out Assistance is a program that provides assistance to those who are unable to place their garbage carts at the streets edge for servicing.  This service is provided for free to those individuals that are in need of assistance.  Please see our Residential Roll Out Assistance page for more information.
