Contractor Documents, Forms, and Information
City Inspection Requirements:
Building Inspections (Residential and Commercial):
Footing – open for inspection before concrete is placed
Pier (if applicable) – holes need to be open to inspection before concrete can be placed
Foundation – prior to pouring any concrete and form survey has been submitted
Framing – inspected after all framing is complete and before insulation is installed. All plumbing, mechanical, and electrical rough in work must be completed prior to framing inspection. Required for all load bearing walls as well as non-load bearing walls containing electrical or plumbing
Insulation – after insulation is installed and before covering walls and ceilings
Masonry – all angle is in palace and prior to loading of masonry or pouring of vertical or horizontal cells
Final – after building construction is complete
Electrical Inspections:
Temporary Pole – temporary connection for construction use only
Rough-In – after all wiring is in place and prior to covering with insulation and sheetrock
Service – prior to services being released to appropriate provider
Final – after all plumbing is complete and ready for occupancy
Plumbing Inspections:
Ground – prior to foundation being poured
Top Out – after all plumbing is in place and prior to covering with insulation or sheetrock
Water line – after connection is made to City system and prior to covering ditch
Sewer line – after connection is made to City system and prior to covering ditch
Gas test (if applicable) – gas line pressure test for release of service
Final – after all plumbing is complete and ready for occupancy
Mechanical Inspections:
Duct – after mechanical equipment is installed and prior to covering any ducts with insulation or sheetrock
Final – all equipment is installed and building is ready for occupancy
Note: Additional types of inspections may be required depending on the project construction.
