The Huntsville Horizon Comprehensive Plan, that is - Huntsville 2040: Our Strategy And Mission.
The City of Huntsville, in collaboration with the consulting firm Kendig Keast Collaborative, will be working diligently over the next several months to update the City's comprehensive plan and we need to hear from you!
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that sets forth a city’s long-range planning policies in order to reflect the aspirations and values of residents, property owners, businesses, and organizations within the community. The Comprehensive Plan is used by officials to make land use and planning-related decisions and serve as a resource the public may use to better understand the City’s approach to development. In short, the Comprehensive Plan illustrates a community's vision for its future.
How can I participate in the Comprehensive Plan update process?
The City will be hosting a series of "town hall" style meetings for the Comprehensive Plan Update at the Walker Education Center, 1402 19th St., at 6:00 p.m. on November 9th, 16th, and December 8th. These meetings are an essential part of the public input component to Huntsville’s future growth and development. There will also be opportunities for the public to provide feedback through online surveys.
