[ARCHIVED] MLK Survey participation requested

The City of Huntsville is conducting an online survey to receive citizen input on the renovation and expansion of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, and improvements to Emancipation Park.

Survey MLKCenterParks and Leisure Director Penny Joiner is working in conjunction with Burditt Consultants LLC to create a feasibility study for the future growth and usage of the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood Recreation Center. As a part of the study, citizens are asked to give their input and opinion in the online survey.

Burditt played an integral role in the creation of the City of Huntsville Parks Master Plan in 2016. City Council approved the study on February 18, 2020. Burditt's contract includes a final report of the feasibility study, Master Plan and pre-schematic designs, and more

"We want to know what renovations citizens would like to see for this community building," Joiner said.

The survey will close on October 19, with the project expecting to be completed by the end of 2020.
