[ARCHIVED] HPD reports arrests in vehicle burglaries

Huntsville Police Patch

The Huntsville Police Department has been plagued by a series of vehicle burglaries since early July the Forest Hills area.

Unknown suspects have been entering unlocked vehicles and taking property, including several firearms.  Several Detectives with the Huntsville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have been working tirelessly to identify suspects in these ongoing burglaries.

Thanks to the help of numerous citizens providing doorbell cam videos two juvenile suspects have been detained.  The juvenile suspects have confessed to a number of the burglaries in the Forest Hills area.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are optimistic that some of the stolen property maybe recovered.

Police Chief Kevin Lunsford commends the hard work of the detectives and is thankful of the continued positive community relations that helped lead to the identity of the juvenile suspects.

For more information, contact Lt. James Barnes at (936) 291-5480.
