The City of Huntsville will celebrate Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2020, with a large-scale firework show at the Kate Barr Ross Park on North Highway 75 North.
To address COVID-19 restrictions for social distancing, programming traditionally held in the afternoon at the park will not take place.
“We invite the public to come to find their favorite spot and get ready for an amazing firework show,” Parks Director Penny Joiner said.
Citizens can enjoy the display from their vehicles and are encouraged to practice the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Citizens are asked to park in any designated parking space near field 6 and 9 (Soccer Field) parking lot. Parking at the gazebo will also be allowed in designated spaces.
Parks staff, Huntsville Police Department and Huntsville Fire Department will be at the park at 7 p.m. to ensure proper parking and social distancing are being utilized.
“We ask all guests to practice the recommended six (6) foot social distancing guidelines between parties,” Joiner said. “Bring your chairs if you wish, get to your favorite spot in the park, and get ready to watch the amazing fireworks display at dark.”
Personal coolers are allowed in the park; no glass bottles are allowed. Visitors are not allowed to bring or set off fireworks in the park.
