The City of Huntsville’s 20-foot Majestic Mountain Pine will be shining bright throughout Christmas!

The City of Huntsville’s 20-foot Majestic Mountain Pine will be shining bright throughout Christmas! The tree, which was created in Sherman, Texas, comes together beautifully with 56 branches and 1,596 multi-colored LED lights.

The tree rests upon a 3-foot base made by the City’s Building Maintenance crew and painted by the Parks Division staff.

“The Parks staff finished the tree off with beautiful ornaments and a 3-foot starburst topper with warm white lights,” said Penny Joiner, Director of Parks and Leisure.

The tree, along with the other lights and decorations, was lit on Saturday, December 7, during the annual Huntsville Lions Club parade.

“Santa Claus made his annual stop in front of the tree where it was lit following a countdown,” Joiner added. “The Christmas tree, along with all of the other downtown Christmas decorations, will remain up through the new year as we ring in 2020!”

Joiner added that the lights make for a magical ride through downtown Huntsville for families looking to take special photos with loved ones. Additionally, there are new decorations installed at Rather Park that include backdrops and lights for those that enjoy Christmas light photos.
