Piney Woods Page Turners Book Club

Be part of the Piney Woods Page Turners Book Club at Huntsville Public Library. All interested persons are welcome to join us in the Nash Board Room from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month or online at the same time. Current and future book choices can be found at myhuntsvillelibrary.com. Book Clubs are an excellent way to enjoy books, challenge one’s mind, and socialize with other book lovers! They can also encourage one to read more often, or to read books one might not otherwise choose. We have fun reading a wide variety of books, making friends, meeting like-minded people, and stimulating the brain cells!

Beginner Microsoft Excel Classes

Need a way to keep track of your schedule or budget? Have you been meaning to learn Microsoft Excel but don’t know where to start? Learn how to organize your data by attending Huntsville Public Library’s free Microsoft Excel classes for beginners. Classes will be offered on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. June dates are June 8, 15, 22, and 29. Topics to be covered will include creating files, data entry, cell formatting, formulas, and manipulating a finished table. Adults 18 years and older can register for classes. 32nd Annual Lineage Society Workshop

Huntsville Public Library will host its 32nd Lineage Society workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.  Anyone interested in joining a lineage society is invited to attend. The workshop, sponsored by the Walker County Genealogical Society, will be held in the Staggs Community Room and representatives from several lineage societies will explain their mission, activities, requirements, meetings, and costs. Admission is free, but pre-registration is preferred.  To attend the workshop, interested parties can register through the library by contacting Adult Services Coordinator Mary Kokot at 936-291-5471.
