    Join us for an hour of creativity. One of our very own Teen Ambassadors, Caileigh Nicks is offering Art Classes for our patrons. The classes are for beginners from the ages of 6 to 16. Caileigh will offer a new project each month. There will be painting, sculpting, and experimenting with several art styles and techniques. Classes will be held each Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 on October 6,13, 20, and 27.

  2. State-Wide Genealogy Program 2023

    The Huntsville Public Library, in cooperation with the Walker County Genealogical Society, will host the state-wide 2023 Genealogy Network of Texas event in celebration of Family History Month. The presentations take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. on Friday, October 20 at the Huntsville Public Library. Join us in the Staggs Community Room for this unique genealogical event. This is the fourth year Huntsville Public Library will be participating in this event so please come and help make it a huge success! The event is FREE, and registration is encouraged but not required. The programs are provided by the Genealogy Network of Texas (GNT), a state-wide initiative to connect libraries/genealogical societies and provide educational and research opportunities that is spearheaded by the Genealogy Center of the Waco-McLennan County Library. Co-sponsors include the Central Texas Genealogical Society and the Texas State Genealogical Society.

    Come to Story Time - a fun, early literacy program for kids six and under. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build a foundation for the lifelong love of reading and learning. For parents and caregivers, Story Time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy strategies in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents afterward. Wednesday and Friday sessions share a theme with something new and exciting each week. Registration is not required. Story Time is now offered on select Saturdays at 10:45 a.m. Join us on Saturday.     Dungeons & Dragons is the most popular tabletop role-playing game of all time. Players build characters and engage in an adventure. This group will meet from 4-6 p.m. on Fridays. October dates are October 6, 13, 20, and 27. Teens 11-18 are welcome! No prior experience is necessary!
