    Would you like to learn a fun and calming skill and also have a homemade scarf to take home as we head into fall? Come knit with us at Huntsville Public Library! Our knitting circle will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and June 24. This event is for children ages 10-14. No prior experience is necessary!

    Get fit while you sit with Sittercise! Everybody’s favorite exercise program is being offered from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays at the Huntsville Public Library in conjunction with Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Sittercise is designed to help those who are aging and/or dealing with chronic illnesses. Sittercise focuses on strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, and overall improved function. Please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Liability waivers are required to participate and are available from the instructor. The class is free and open to adults ages 18 and older. Class is limited to 25 so social distancing can be maintained.

    Have you ever been interested in coding but have been too intimidated to try? Participate this summer in the Hour of Code™ event - a fun, first introduction to computer science - at Huntsville Public Library! This class is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 and June 23 in the Rex Children's Room and is perfect for ages 5 to 9. Activities are designed to demystify code and demonstrate that anybody can learn the basics of computer science. No experience necessary! Children who participate must be accompanied by an adult. Code.org’s own activities feature Minecraft, Monan Wayfinding, and Space Adventure.
