City of Huntsville Main Street Program introduces Shop Small-Shop Local campaign
Downtown Huntsville businesses are participating in Main Street’s new Shop Small-Shop Local campaign for the month of November, by reminding our community to shop locally from Wednesday, November 1 through Friday, December 1, 2017.
For every $20.00 spent in a participating downtown small business, customers will receive one ticket to be entered in a drawing to win $1,000.00 in gift cards. The drawing will take place during the Christmas Fair & Winter in the Park in downtown Huntsville on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.
The people who run small downtown businesses in our community are our neighbors, so when you shop at a local business, it’s the economic equivalent of a neighbor helping a neighbor. Shopping small means helping your neighbors and supporting our own community. Shop Small-Shop Local is a way to remember to shop at home first, before traveling or shopping online, to help support the Huntsville area.
Small businesses are the backbone of our country and, when combined, constitute the largest employer in the nation. By supporting small businesses, you help owners become job creators. Young people, in particular, need work experience more than ever, and small businesses can be an excellent place for them to discover their talents and learn essential work skills.
Currently, the following downtown businesses are participating in this year’s Shop Small-Shop Local: Gallery of Huntsville, Tickled Pink Gifts, A Nitsch In Time, Patio Café on the Square, Sam Houston Antique Mall, Timeless Treasures, Bluebonnet Square Antiques, Fabric Carousel, DejaVu Décor, Bargain Boxx/Simply Seconds, and Pecking Crow.
