Huntsville Public Library is hosting a Tutoring Orientation and Training Luncheon at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 12 in the Staggs Community Room. The luncheon is for all our current Adult Education and ESL tutors, as well as anyone interested in becoming a volunteer tutor to work with our Adult Education students.
To become an Adult Education or ESL volunteer tutor, you must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be willing to commit at least 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months
- Complete a volunteer application in person and meet with a Volunteer Coordinator
- Pass a background check
During the event, there will be a short presentation explaining our current program, followed by a question and answer session. Our guest speaker will be Diane Harris who has volunteered as an ESL tutor for over 15 years. Come join us for lunch, get to know our current tutors, and learn how you can get involved with this rewarding and much needed program. If you plan to attend, please complete the required online registration.
