  1. Candidate Orientation

    Considering a run for City Council? Not considering it at all but curious about the process? If so, mark the calendar for upcoming City Council candidate orientation sessions set for July 18 at 12:15 p.m. City Secretary Lee Woodward acknowledges members of the public may have questions about the responsibilities of Councilmembers and the election process. Candidate packets for the 2018 City of Huntsville General Election are already available, at the office of the City Secretary at City Hall, 1212 Avenue M, or on the City web site at or The City Council seats for the four At-Large Councilmember positions will be on the November 6, 2018 general election ballot. Filing for the positions will be from July 21, to August 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, in the office of the City Secretary (City Hall, 1212 Avenue M). The City of Huntsville application fee is $1 in cash, per City Charter mandate.

  2. Story Time

    Come to Story Time – a fun early literacy program for kids 5 and under. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. For parents and caregivers, story time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents after Story Time. Wednesday and Friday sessions share a theme with something new each week. Sign-up is not required. Story times are held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:45 a.m.

    The Huntsville Audubon Society is bringing more exciting programs to the Huntsville Public Library for elementary aged children. Join us at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 for “Birds’ Nests and Eggs.” See firsthand a display of different types of nests and eggs as you learn about them and make your own nest and eggs to take home.
