Do you have children ages 2 or under? Then Mother Goose Lapsit is a story time designed for you! Held on Mondays at 10:30 a.m., enjoy a half hour of developmentally appropriate play featuring stories, songs, and rhymes. This program introduces little ones to the story time experience and is perfect for their language development and developing vocabulary.

Texas 42 - a dominoes game similar in style to bridge and spades - is coming to the Huntsville Public Library at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 3rd. Studies show playing dominoes can be beneficial for the mind as attention to detail and strategy are essential to play. So come to the Community Room each week and strategize your winning moves. We’ll supply the dominoes and refreshments. Please register or call Mary at 936-291-5471 for more information. Games will be played weekly if 8 or more players register. This program is for adults 18 years and older.

In observance of April being proclaimed Financial Literacy Month by Mayor Andy Brauninger, Huntsville Public Library will host the SHSU Student Money Management Center’s month-long series of financial workshops. Some of the sessions planned so far are “Match-Making: How to Make your Dreams Come True” in which participants will learn how to match their money with their goals; “College Costs: More than Tuition”; Investing in Undergraduate Education: Costs and Resources”; and, “Spending Plans: Meeting goals the Simple Way” which will be offered in English and Spanish. SHSU employees may utilize these external workshops as Continuing Education hours with their supervisor’s approval. No registration required.
Homeschooling Parents, are you looking for a program that educates your tween about how to use the library to find books? Huntsville Public Library has a new program happening at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 4th just for you. During the Library Time Scavenger Tour, your tween will enjoy an “Adventure Time” themed scavenger hunt that explains how to find books, the sections of the Children’s and Young Adult areas, and other library resources.
