The City of Huntsville Public Works Division wants you to be aware of changes to services offered during the holidays. There will be no residential garbage pickup on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25. Instead, the Tuesday customers’ garbage pickup will be picked up on Wednesday, December 26.
The Transfer Station will be closed Tuesday and reopen for normal business on Wednesday, December 26. There will be no Heavy Trash service for Wednesday, December 26. All services will resume regular schedules Thursday, December 27.
Christmas Tree recycling will take place January 2-4, with curbside drop-off at Josey Park, off Sam Houston Avenue, or at the Broadmoor Drive cul-de-sac at Brookhollow in Elkins Lake. However, citizens also have the option of dropping off their Christmas trees at the Transfer Station, at no charge, with a valid City water bill.
For New Year’s Day, the Transfer Station will be open, and all trash routes will be on schedules for Tuesday, January 1.
